MOBRIDGE – Mobridge-Pollock skirted Aberdeen Roncalli in the first half and rode a big surge in the second half to finish off a 46-0 win over the Cavaliers Friday night in Class 11B football action in Mobridge.

The host Tigers struck quickly in the first half, scoring on their first two possessions to go up 14-0. 

Roncalli fought back, however, and had the ball in a 4th-and-goal situation, but failed to come away with any points. The Cavaliers also handed the Tigers a drive extension on a roughing the kicker penalty in that first half.

Mobridge-Pollock took advantage of both Cavalier miscues and turned them into points to go up 22-0 at the break.

The Tigers did not let up in the second half, adding three more scores to their tally, including an 80-yard pick-six from Trueth Crow Ghost in the third quarter.

All told, the Tigers got six touchdowns from three different players, including two from Crow Ghost, two more from Jacoby Moccasin and two from Easton Eisemann.

“We fell behind early and never found a way to climb out of it,” said Roncalli coach Billy Young. “Every time we made a big play, we’d turn around and make a mistake that took all the momentum away. I thought our kids played hard, but we didn’t execute the way you have to against a quality opponent like Mobridge.”

Now 3-2 on the season, Mobridge-Pollock will host unbeaten fourth-rated Clark-Willow Lake next Friday. Roncalli (2-4) heads into its bye week. The Cavaliers then head to Milbank before hosting Groton.
