Lopez advances to final eight at national tourney

SIOUX FALLS – Northern State’s Rudy Lopez won two of his three matches Friday and secured All-American honors by earning a top eight spot at the NCAA Division II wrestling championships at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.

Teammates Sloan Johannsen and Griffin Lundeen each lost a pair of matches and closed out their seasons.

Lopez will take on Angel Flores of Adams State in the third session today.
