GROTON – Eighth-rated Groton outscored fifth-rated Hamlin 13-6 in the final quarter to rally for a 55-50 Northeast Conference boys’ basketball victory.

Groton led 53-48 with the ball in the closing seconds. However, after a turnover, Hamlin scored on a layup and then fouled. The Tigers missed both free throws, and Hamlin missed a potential game-tying shot from the corner before Groton made two foul shots for the final margin.

Gage Sippel had 18 points to lead the Tigers. Ryder Johnson followed with 13, and Karson Zak finished with 11.

Boden Stevenson topped Hamlin with 17, and Jackson Wadsworth followed with 15.
