NSU women drop conference road game to Mary

BISMARCK, N.D. – Northern State fell behind early and was unable to mount a late-game rally in an 81-63 loss to Mary in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women’s basketball action Thursday night.

Mary, which improved to 8-2 on the season, was gradually able to build on its lead in pulling away to the victory. The Marauders outscored the Wolves in each quarter.

Izzy Moore topped Northern with 22 points. Freshman Reagan Rus added a career-high 15 points, and Megan Counts contributed 13.

The Wolves, 4-3 on the season, fell to 0-2 in NSIC action. Northern will host Minot State at 6 p.m. Saturday at Wachs Arena in another league contest.
