HURON – The elements that carried Aberdeen Central to a volleyball win over Huron earlier this season, were absent in a sweep by the Tigers Tuesday night.

Huron was able to finish off each set on the way to a 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 Eastern South Dakota Conference sweep.

“We had a lot of errors,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “Always plenty to work on.”

In the prior match, Central took advantage of its aggressive serving to keep the Tigers on their heels. However, in the rematch, the Golden Eagles managed just one ace serve.

“We didn’t serve them out of system, and had a whole bunch of serving errors,” Bindenagel said, “which is always a bad combination. They defended really well tonight, and we struggled to find any open spots on the court.”

Lauryn Burckhard had nine kills to lead the Golden Eagles, while Kenadi Withers and Kamdyn Borge each contributed five.

Burckhard and Taylin Kleffman both finished with 23 digs, and Borge contributed 20.

The Golden Eagles host Yankton in another ESD match on Saturday afternoon at Golden Eagles Arena.
