On the IR

I have written dozens of columns about my photography and career as a photographer. Many were written to get something off my chest or honestly, to fill a hole on the newspaper page.

I feel compelled to write this column to give you, the readers, an update on me. Some of you may have noticed I haven’t been on the sidelines at the home games and contests in the past two weeks. That is because I had to have surgery recently and I will be on injured reserve for a while. The staples are set to come out in a week or so but I have to see how I feel before I get back out there.

I admit I am an old man and that I don’t move as fast as I once did. Yet one thing I do know is you have to be on your toes and have your head on a swivel especially on a football sideline. So you can understand my hesitation to jump right back into the fray.

My goal is to get healthy and get back out there as soon as is safely possible.

In the meantime I appreciate the other folks who have picked up a camera to help Dave Vilhauer in keeping the SD SportScene website running with fresh photos in my absence.

Now as long as Dave doesn’t put me on the Waiver Wire….
