Groton boys suffer first loss in setback to Mitchell

MITCHELL – The fourth-rated Class A Groton boys’ soccer team lost its first game of the season Monday, being blanked by Class AA Mitchell 6-0.

The Tigers, who started out the season with four straight wins, ended up in a 2-2 tie last Thursday against Freeman Academy.

Groton received 11 saves from keeper Gage Sippel against the Kernels. The Tigers will host West Central at 2 p.m. Saturday.
