Wolves picked middle of pack in NSIC poll, Adams Defensive POY

Northern State was selected to finish eighth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pre-Season Football Coaches Poll this week.

In addition, the Wolves were picked to finish fourth out of seven teams in the NSIC North Division.

Minnesota State was the overall top pick with 11 out of a possible 14 first-place votes. Augustana received the other three first-place votes in the runner-up position.

In the NSIC North, Bemidji State was the top team with four first-place votes, and the other three going to Minnesota-Duluth.

Northern’s Jake Adams was named the NSIC North Pre-Season Defensive Player of the Year and the team’s Defensive Player to Watch. Quarterback Daniel Britt was named the Wolves’ Offensive Player to Watch.

Northern State will open the season on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Sioux Falls, rated fifth overall in the NSIC Poll.

The Wolves will have their home opener on Saturday, Sept. 13 against Wayne State at 6 p.m. at Dacotah Bank Stadium.
