BROOKINGS – Aberdeen Roncalli won a couple of close matches and also fell in a pair of tight contests during a tennis triangular on Tuesday. The Cavaliers fell to Brookings 7-2 and to Mitchell 8-1.

Roncalli was victorious in two of the three doubles against Brookings, both in narrow fashion.

Gannon May and Will Haskell claimed a 10-7 decision at top flight doubles, while Caleb Stoks and Liam Voehl went the distance for a 7-5 tiebreaker victory at flight three doubles for the Cavaliers. Roncalli also dropped a 10-8 decision to the Bobcats at flight four singles.

Roncalli won one of three close matches against Mitchell.

May pulled off a 10-8 super tiebreaker win at flight one singles after splitting the first two sets by 6-4 set scores.

The Cavaliers lost two matches in tight battles, falling at flight two singles 7-5, 6-3, and at flight one doubles by the score of 6-3, 7-5.

Roncalli is back in action on Monday in Watertown where the Cavaliers will face both Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Watertown.
