HURON – Groton fought back from a two-set deficit, but was unable to complete the comeback, falling to Mount Vernon-Plankinton 25-15, 25-19, 18-25, 25-14 in Class A SoDak 16 volleyball action Tuesday night.
Rylee Dunker led a balanced attack for the Tigers with 10 kills. Chesney Weber contributed eight kills, 12 set assists and 15 digs.
Records: Groton 19-7; Mount Vernon-Plankinton 27-5.

In another SoDak 16 match involving an area team Wolsey-Wessington dropped a five-set thriller in Class B action, falling to Gayville-Volin 21-25, 27-25, 25-27, 25-20, 21-19.
