The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has released its preseason coaches wrestling poll. Northern State is picked to finish fifth in the 10-team poll.

St. Cloud State was picked to finished first in the NSIC, receiving seven first-place votes on the way to 79 points. Augustana is second with 65 points and one first-place vote. Defending NSIC champion Parkside received two first-place votes and is third with 62 points.

Mary is picked to finish fourth with 58 points and Northern State fifth with 52 points.

National champion Nick Novak of St. Cloud State is the NSIC Preseason Wrestler of the Year.

Northern’s Wrestler to Watch is Wyatt Turnquist. The All-American from Winner finished third at the NCAA Division II national tournament last season.

The Wolves open their season on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Jimmie Open in Jamestown, N.D.
