FARGO, N.D. – The Aberdeen Central volleyball team began the day with a win over Kindred before dropping its last three matches on the second day of the Fargo Metro Tournament on Saturday.
“The kids played really hard against some great teams,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “The goal is for matches like this to make us better as the season progresses.”
Central, which had done the opposite during Friday’s matches losing a match before winning two, entered bracket play against Kindred and proceeded to claim a 2-1 victory.
However, Central won just one set the rest of the day, falling 2-0 to Bismarck Century, 2-1 to Jamestown and 2-0 to Fargo Davies.
“While we didn’t get the wins we wanted,” Bindenagel said, “we plan to use this to build as we head into the final month of the season.”
Alivia Miller finished with 30 kills on the day to go along with 35 set assists.
The Golden Eagles will look to rebound next week, but face a stiff challenge playing at Sioux Falls Washington (10-3, receiving votes) on Tuesday before hosting Harrisburg (13-4, top rated) on Thursday at Golden Eagles Arena.
