MITCHELL – Aberdeen Central scored four second half goals to cap a 6-1 girls’ soccer victory over Mitchell Thursday night on the road.
Jaxi Lozenski recorded a hat trick in the victory, notching one goal early in the first half and a two more in the second, including a final tally in the waning minutes of the game. Lozenski’s second score came on a penalty kick after drawing a foul in the box in the 51st minute of play.
Espynn Kuhfeld notched two goals and a pair of assists in Central’s effort, including a free kick goal from about 35 yards out in the second half. Keyana Stillman notched Central’s final goal.
“The girls played well tonight,” said Central coach Kendra Hanley. “We moved the ball, focused on moving into space and being proactive with our thinking.”
Mitchell’s lone goal came on a penalty kick opportunity midway through the second half, but the Golden Eagles were well in control by that point.
“We connected the ball well,” Hanley said. “The girls were coachable from back to front. We worked on being disciplined in certain areas of our game and they stayed focused on those goals. They were aggressive, confident and poised. All good components to see and practice in a match.”
Central will host Sioux Falls Washington Tuesday with first kick set for 4 p.m.
