WAUBAY – Aberdeen Christian did not have much time to recover following a match on Monday, but the Knights were up to the challenge on Tuesday night.

One night after a tough four-set setback to Aberdeen Roncalli, Christian picked up a 25-22, 25-13, 25-9 non-conference volleyball sweep over Waubay-Summit.

“It was a quick turn around for us as we played a four-set match (Monday) night,” said Christian coach Sally Stoebner, “but the girls took care of business tonight against a good Waubay-Summit team.”

Ari Johnson powered the Christian offense with a 15-kill performance. The junior also had three aces and a pair of solo blocks.

“We played a good game tonight with Ari Johnson leading for us offensively,” Stoebner said.

Payton Skarin also had three aces and a team-leading 18 digs.

Mia Ramirez contributed nine kills.

The Knights, 8-5 on the season, now get a week’s break before hosting Wilmot in another non-conference match next Tuesday at the Christian School Gym.
