Castlewood receives first place vote in latest 9A poll

Castlewood on the strength of a win over Hamlin last weekend is now receiving a first-place vote in Class 9A in this week’s Prep Media football polls.

Castlewood moved up two spots to third in 9A. The Warriors have a big showdown against second-rated Howard coming this Friday.

Deuel remained fourth in Class 11B, Hamlin slipped to fifth in Class 9AA, and Warner remained third in Class 9B.

Receiving votes this week are Clark-Willow Lake in 11B, Britton-Hecla in 9AA, and Herreid-Selby Area in 9B.

The South Dakota Prep Media Football Poll for the week of Aug. 24 is listed below, ranking the top-five teams in each class, record, total points and previous ranking. First-place votes are listed in parentheses. The polls for Class 11AAA-11A remain unchanged from the preseason rankings.
