Big inning fuels Spearfish softball win over Central

PIERRE – Spearfish scored 10 runs in the bottom of third inning on the way to 13-4 softball win over Aberdeen Central on Friday.

The Spartans pieced together 10 hits in the frame.

Central led 3-2 going into the last of the third. The Golden Eagles scored a run in the second on an RBI double from Avery Bendewald. Central then added two runs in the third when Alivia Roettele doubled, Abby Frank single, and Roettele came in on a ground out. Another run scored on an error.

Central’s final run came in on another ground out in the fourth.

Bendewald finished with a pair of hits and also drove in a pair to lead the Golden Eagles.
