The Northern State Wolves closed out senior night in dominant fashion Friday night, rolling past the Jamestown Jimmies 52-0 in a dual that featured nothing but pins and technical falls for the Wolves at Wachs Arena.

From the opening whistle, Northern State set the tone. The Wolves attacked early and often, turning takedowns into back points and falls as they energized the home crowd. Every match ended with bonus points, highlighting both the team’s depth and its aggressive mindset.

Northern coach Josh Nolan was pleased not only with the result, but with how his team performed in front of its fans.

“When we get a chance to go out there and execute our skills, it’s just fun to watch these guys just go out there and have fun and cut loose,” Nolan said.

With all victories coming by pin or technical fall, the Wolves put on a show for the senior night crowd.

“It’s great, it’s what we want them to do, go out there and score points,” Nolan said. “We have amazing fan support and a great atmosphere, so we want to go out there and put on a show for these guys and let them raise our hand.”

One of the standout performances came from Krayle Stormer, who earned a 19-4 technical fall. Stormer wasted no time, recording four takedowns in the first period and two more in the second to build a commanding lead.

“All the matches I have been wrestling I feel I have been finding a good groove,” Stormer said. “Everybody trying to stop me has been trying to pin me down, so resetting and finding some turns there.”

Stormer reflected on the team’s growth throughout the season.

“It’s super cool. I think one thing we’ve done really awesome at is scheduling, we’ve been fighting and grinding, and this is a nice time to step back and say to ourselves we’re really good, and we’ve been competing with the best teams and going blow for blow.”

On Senior Night, the moment carried extra meaning for him.

“It’s cool, it’s been a long journey, a lot of fighting all over. It’s kind of cool to say I actually get to do this and fight and represent God and be living the dream. Nothing better than chasing after our dreams and living the experience. It’s so cool, I love wrestling so much.”

Rudy Lopez also delivered a dominant outing, earning a 22-7 technical fall. Lopez tallied three takedowns in the first period, one in the second, and three more in the third to steadily pull away.

“Getting to my offense, moving my hands and my feet, setting it up and going out and attacking,” Lopez said.

For Lopez, the team’s dominant performance is a sign of what’s ahead.

“It means we’re moving in the right direction and we’re peaking for the postseason here, getting ready for regionals, believing in our abilities and talents and trusting in God.”

With regionals approaching, the Wolves remain focused on steady improvement rather than added pressure.

“Continue to build, not put too much pressure on it and approach it the same way we’ve been approaching all these matches and continue to do our thing,” Nolan said.

Lopez echoed that mindset.

“Keeping the main thing the main thing, improving every day,” Lopez said, “and taking it one match at a time, one period at a time, and doing our best out there.”

On a night meant to celebrate seniors, Northern State did exactly what it set out to do, score points, entertain the home crowd, and build momentum heading into the postseason.
