SIOUX FALLS – Top-ranked Sioux Falls Lincoln proved its billing Friday night, handing Aberdeen Central an 81-41 non-conference boys’ basketball loss in the regular-season finale.

The Patriots poured in 24 points in the opening quarter alone, while limiting Central to just six points in the same stanza. That early surge was enough to put the Golden Eagles on their heels.

“I thought our kids again played hard tonight and did a lot of good things,” said Central coach Colton McClemans. “Lincoln is a really good basketball team and a lot of credit to them making big plays. They are a really tough team to guard with the athleticism they have and kids all over the floor that can shoot it.”

Central was led by Gavin Hauck, who came off the bench for 14 total points. Hauck hit four treys in the effort. Luke Swanson added nine points to the Golden Eagle tally.

Central concluded the season with a 2-18 record.

“Proud of the way our kids continued to respond each game and make improvements throughout the year,” McClemans. “This group will continue to work at it and I’m excited to see the progress they will make each summer.”
