Wings skate past Bismarck for 3-1 win

The Aberdeen Wings scored a pair of third-period goals to claim a 3-1 win over Bismarck in NAHL hockey action on Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center.

Aberdeen’s Matthew Martin broke a 1-1 tie with a power play goal midway through the final period before Easton Edwards scored in the last minute for the final margin of difference.

Taven James found the back of the net in the second period for Aberdeen’s first goal on assists from Gavin Reed and Owen Pitters.

Adam Dybal had 19 saves for the Wings. Aberdeen outshot the Bobcats 31-20 in the contest.

The Wings now own a three-point lead over Bismarck atop the Central Division standings. Austin is four points behind.

Aberdeen heads to Austin for a two-game series this coming weekend.
