AUSTIN, Minn. – The Austin Bruins exploded for four third-period goals to fuel a 4-1 NAHL hockey victory over the Aberdeen Wings Friday night.

The Bruins broke a scoreless tie going into the final period with a pair of goals in less than two minutes to start the period, including the first one just 13 seconds after the puck dropped.

Aberdeen’s Jibber Kuhl put the Wings on the board when he found the back of the net midway through the period. However, Austin scored a short time later and then added an empty-netter in the closing minute for the final margin of difference.

The Wings outshot Austin by a 38-30 total.

Aberdeen continues to lead the Central Division standings. Bismarck is one point back and Austin is two points behind.

The Wings and Bruins are back at it tonight to wrap up their weekend series.
