Quick start fuels Wings win over Austin

AUSTIN, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings scored three goals in the first five minutes to spark a 4-2 win over Austin in NAHL hockey Saturday night.

Jonathan Doucette found the back of the net less than two minutes into the contest, and teammate Cooper Anderson scored just over a minute later.

Following an Austin goal, Anthony Ciaramitaro added another Aberdeen goal with 15:25 left in the opening period.

Sam Scheetz produced Aberdeen’s other score on a power play goal in the second period.

The Wings won by three goals despite being outshot by a 42-26 margin. Adam Dybal had 40 saves in goal for Aberdeen.

Gavin Reed assisted on a pair of Wings goals.

Aberdeen, 12-4-1 on the season, leads the Central Division by two points over Bismarck.

The Wings return home to take on North Iowa on Friday and Saturday at the Odde Ice Center. Puck drop is 7:15 both nights.
