Groton boys fall to Belle Fourche in shootout

GROTON – The Groton boys’ soccer squad had its season come to an end in a shootout on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers fell to Belle Fourche 7-4 in a shootout during the opening round of the Class A playoffs. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation, and 3-3 at the end of overtime, before the Broncs outscored Groton 4-1 in the shootout.

Karson Zak had a goal and two assists for Groton. Ethan Kroll and Becker Bosma each contibuted one goal. Logan Olson had Groton’s lone goal in the shootout. Gage Sippel collected 14 saves in goal for the Tigers.

Groton ended its season with a 7-6-2 record.
