SIOUX FALLS – The Aberdeen Central boys’ soccer team extended a pair of streaks against Sioux Falls Roosevelt Tuesday night. The Golden Eagles won their sixth game in a row, and also have recorded shutouts in each of those six contests.

Central received goals from four different players in the win over Roosevelt. Tyler Bain and Gus Bjerknes both scored in the first half for the Golden Eagles, while Arnau Hernandez and Martin Contreras each found of the back of the net in the second half.

“We played a solid game and connected really well,” said Central coach Lance Mohr.

Meanwhile, Zander Kuhfeld was rock solid in net once again for the Golden Eagles.

Mohr said the Rough Riders presented a unique challenge.

“They were a defensive team and we held the ball for long periods of time,” Mohr said. “It took a lot of ball movement to create chances by us.”

Central, 7-1, hosts Brookings at 4 p.m. Thursday at Brownell Activities Complex.
