PIERRE – A short-handed Aberdeen Roncalli tennis team was shutout by Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Christian on Friday.
“We had a young team today made up of a majority of seventh-graders up against two of the better teams in the state,” said Roncalli coach Jonah Dignan. “We played well. We just have never seen that kind of speed and power before.”
Dignan pointed out of the play of Molleigh Hofer at fourth flight singles and second flight doubles.
“Molleigh had a great day,” Dignan said. “She played amazing in doubles and was able to have some really good singles matches as well.”
The Cavaliers will face Spearfish and Madison today during the two-day event.
