A group of area coaches has been named Coach of the Year by the South Dakota Track and Field Coaches Association.

Area 1 Class B Coach of the Year recipients are Head Coach, Todd Thorson of Ipswich; Assistant Coach, Jessica Larson of Potter County; and Assistant Coach, Janelle Barondeau of Frederick.

Area A Class A Coach of the Year recipients are Head Coach, Brian Tvedt of Deuel; and Assistant Coach, Kim Eggers of Deuel.

Other coaching awards went to:

Area 2 Class B: Head Coach, Chad Williamson of Colman-Egan; Assistant Coach, Nathan Lamb of Deubrook.

Area 2 Class A: Head Coach, Luke VanderLeest of Sioux Falls Christian; Assistant Coach, Kaden Elder of Vermillion.

Area 2 Junior High-Middle School Assistant Coach, Charles Hruby of West Central.
