EUREKA – A variety of athletes won multiple open events and North Central rolled to winning team championships during the Yellowstone Trail Conference track and field meet on Thursday.
The Thunder won the boys’ division by 160 points, and took the girls’ crown by 187 points.
Potter County’s Jhett Simon had a huge day winning the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and the long jump in the boys’ division. North Central’s Jared Wherry won the 110-meter high hurdles, the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and the pole vault, while teammate Gabe Johnson won the 800-meter run, 1,600-meter run, and 3,200-meter run.

On the girls’ side, North Central’s Lindsey Geier won the long jump, triple jump, and ran on the winning 400-meter relay, while teammate Peyton Schnabel won the 100-meter dash and the pole vault. Dannika Kaup of Potter County won the 100-meter hurdles, the 200-meter dash and ran on the winning 1,600-meter relay team, while teammate Jaycee Stevens on the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs and was a member of the first place 3,200-meter relay squad. Payge Bakker of Sully Buttes won the shot put and discus.
