MADISON – Second-seeded Hamlin used a strong start to cruise past Hanson 90-43 in Class A SoDak 16 boys’ basketball action Tuesday night. The Chargers punched their ticket to the State A tournament next week in Rapid City where they will face Groton in the opening round.

Hamlin was led by Jackson Wadsworth with 25 points, while Easton Neuendorf had 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Tyson Stevenson had 16 points and five assists, and Zac VanMeeteren added eight points.

Hanson was led by Jayce Slaba with 17 points.

PIERRE – Seventh-seeded Rapid City Christian held off Milbank 82-66 for a Class A SoDak 16 win on Tuesday. The Comets will play in the Class A state tournament next week where they will face Sioux Valley in the opening round.

Rapid City Christian was led by Julius Frog with 24 points, while Benson Kieffer had 21. Simon Kieffer recorded 10 points and five steals, and Aiden Roberts finished with eight points.

The Bulldogs were led by Joe Schulte with 24 points, and Jaxson Wildung contributed 21. Garrett Mertens totaled 15.

MADISON – Third-seeded Castlewood pulled away from Centerville for an 82-51 Class B SoDak 16 win on Tuesday. The Warriors advance to the Class B State Tournament next week where they will take on Leola-Frederick in the opening round.

Castlewood’s Bryon Laue led with a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds. Lane Tvedt had 18 points, while Luke Baumberger had 14. Jamison Keszler added 11 points and five assists.

Centerville was led by Aiden Bobzin with 16 points, while Cole Edberg and Ethan Bobzin each had 10.

HURON – Fourth-seeded Wessington Springs used a strong defensive effort to pull away from Waverly-South Shore for a 54-35 win in a Class B SoDak 16 contest on Tuesday. The Spartans advance to the Class B State Tournament where they will face Howard in the opening round.

Ryder Michalek led Wessington Springs with a game-high 19 points, and also recorded 12 rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Parker Graff had 14 points, and Colby Flowers contributed nine points and 12 rebounds. Brock Krueger added eight points.

Waverly-South Shore was led by Sam Appelhof with 11 points. Colton Kranz and Zach Ries each finished with eight, and Cody Thompson added seven.
