Northern State fell behind in the third quarter and the Wolves were unable to get over the hump down the stretch in a 77-72 women’s setback to Mary at Wachs Arena Thursday night.

The Marauders outscored NSU 18-12 in the third period to take a lead and then finished off the key Northern Sun Intercollege Conference contest. Both teams are now 11-4 in league play.

Madelyn Bragg scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Wolves. Alayna Benike added 14 points and Brynn Alfson had 10 in the balanced attack. Morgan Fiedler and Rianna Fillipi each finished with nine.

Northern made 23 of 27 foul shots during the contest.

The Wolves, 15-6 overall, head to St. Cloud State for another NSIC contest on Saturday.
