Jolie Palmer of Miller, and Charley Henderson of Mobridge-Pollock have been chosen to Class A all-state volleyball squads.
Palmer, a sophomore libero, was named to the second team, while Henderson, a junior hitter, was a third-team selection.
Jolie Palmer, Miller. Just a sophomore, Palmer had 635 digs, including her 1,000th this past season. She also had 71 service aces, and 71 set assists. “Her quickness and agility allow her to dig all kinds of offensive attacks and serve receive the toughest serves,” said Miller coach Linda DeBoer. “Her versatility and high IQ allow her to also deliver a great second ball when we are forced out of system, and to attack from the backrow.”
Charley Henderson, Mobridge-Pollock. This junior continued to be a force for the Tigers this season, finishing with 48 aces, 319 kills (including her 500th), 141 digs, 19 solo blocks and 59 block assists. “Charley is an aggressive, smart volleyball player. She is a powerful attacker and blocker,” said Mobridge-Pollock coach Rose Henderson. “She continued to push herself to fun a fast attack and made great decisions at the net.”
