A look back at some of the sports happenings during the week of Oct. 22-28: Last year on Oct. 26, 2022: After playing pro basketball abroad for nine years in 27 countries, seven-foot Yankton High School graduate Colton Iverson has retired. Iverson was born in Aberdeen on June 29, 1998. 10 years ago on Oct. 26, 2013: The Ipswich girls of coach Todd Thorson won their fourth straight State B cross country championship in dominating fashion. The Tigers placed five members among the top 16 runners in the field: Macy Heinz (third), Tyler Loken (fifth), Tori Moore (sixth), Aleah Steger (11th) and Bailey Hammrich (16th). 20 years ago on Oct. 25, 2003: While bowling in a "Beat the Coach" session, Rapid City's 16-year-old Cassie Leuthold rolled a 300.
