A look back at some of the sports happenings during the week of June 4-10: Last year on June 8, 2022: Construction on a new tee-ball/casual play field started at the Veteran's Memorial Sports Complex in Webster. The Webster Diamond Club’s $70,000 field will be a miniature version of Target Field, home to the Minnesota Twins. The field is expected to be ready for play next summer. 10 years ago on June 8, 2013: Former Aberdeen resident, Yankton graduate and South Dakota State pitcher Layne Somsen was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 22nd round of the MLB Draft, while Augustana College pitcher Jordan Milbrath was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 35th round. 20 years ago on June 7, 2003: Among the Elite 15 high school female athletes chosen by the South Dakota High School Activities Association were Laura Legge of Aberdeen Central; Shaina Riggs of Aberdeen Roncalli; Heidi Muellenberg of Redfield and Elizabeth Sinclair of Milbank. 30 years ago on June 5, 1993:
