The Webster Diamond Club’s $70,000 field will be a miniature version of Target Field, home to the Minnesota Twins. The field is expected to be ready for play next summer.
10 years ago on June 8, 2013: Former Aberdeen resident, Yankton graduate and South Dakota State pitcher Layne Somsen was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 22nd round of the MLB Draft, while Augustana College pitcher Jordan Milbrath was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 35th round.

Christy Mettler, a SDSU graduate student from Custer, won the women’s race by almost three minutes in 1:15.38.
