The annual Midwest Championships wrestling tournament is set for today and Sunday at the Barnett Center. An 11-team dual tourney will start at 8 this morning. Then approximately 400 wrestlers will participate in an individual tournament that will start at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
The event, which is for youth grades K-8, is expected to draw wrestlers from South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota, according to tournament director Rocky Burkett.
There is no advancement from this stand-alone tourney.
“It’s just an another opportunity to wrestle and go from there,” Burkett said.
