MITCHELL - The Aberdeen Central boys' tennis squad dropped a pair of 7-2 decisions to Mitchell and Sioux Falls Washington Monday afternoon in Mitchell, kicking off a week of action that will see the Golden Eagles take the court in five out of six days. Central started its day with a string of narrow losses to the host Kernels, dropping two super tiebreaks in singles play and a close match in doubles action. “I thought we played really well, especially against Mitchell,” said Central coach Trent Kurtz. Mitchell Hofer had the lone singles win against the Kernels, taking care of business against Luke Jerke to begin the day. “Mitch Hofer played the best match I’ve ever seen him play,” Kurtz said. “He just came out and took it to his opponent. He played with more pace than he usually does.” Central’s Sekou Gogue at flight three and Jack Riggs at flight four lost in the super tiebreak in their respective matches.
