Central wrestlers split duals at triangular

BRANDON - It was a tale of two duals for the Aberdeen Central boys' wrestling squad Thursday night. The Golden Eagles fell to powerhouse Brandon Valley 45-27 and rolled past Yankton 75-6 in a pair of Eastern South Dakota Conference matchups. "It was two completely different duals," said Central coach Donnie Bowden. "It was good to be in a dog fight and there was some confidence on the other end." Central grabbed five individual wins against Brandon Valley and fell just short in a couple of others that would have split the 14 matches evenly. "All in all I thought that we had some pretty good effort. To be able to take those five matches that we did against Brandon Valley and then have a shot at a couple others to split with them, it shows us where we’re at," Bowden said. "We know that we still have to improve and those improvements are coming, so it’s pretty exciting on that end.
