HURON – Aberdeen Central was unable to secure a couple of precious points when it needed them Wednesday afternoon in a Class AA SoDak 16 match against Huron.
The Golden Eagles had their season come to an end in a 25-22, 26-24, 14-25, 25-17 volleyball setback.
As was the case in the two previous matches against the Tigers, Central was just a few points away from having things turn out differently.
“We got stuck in a couple rotations which cost us the match,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “Overall, I thought our kids did some great things. A couple of points here and there in the first two sets and the night ends differently.”
After dropping two tightly contested sets to start the match, the Eagles gained some momentum with a third-set victory. However, The Tigers were able to regroup and close out the match in the fourth.
Central featured a balanced attack led by Grace Kuch with 13 kills. Taryn Nieman followed with eight, and Leah Gough, Ashley Wangler and Lauryn Burckhard each contributed seven.

Arylie Waldo had 32 set assists and Sydney Evans finished with 38 digs.
Central concluded its season with a 13-13 record.
“This was a really fun team to coach,” Bindenagel said. “We avenged some losses from last season and had a great end of season run on the road. I’m going to miss seeing these kids every day.”
