Volleyball Roundup

WOLSEY – Wolsey-Wessington won its third straight five-set volleyball match to start the season, taking down newly top-ranked Warner Monday night. The Warbirds rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the final set to record a 25-16, 25-20, 21-25, 22-15, 15-11 triumph.

Last week, Wolsey-Wessington defeated then number one Northwestern in five sets as well as Arlington.

Mya Boomsma finished with a match-high 17 kills to lead the victory. Leah Williams added 16.

Jennifer Aman’s 16 kills topped Warner.

Serving: Warner 89-97 7 aces (Libby Scepaniak 12-13 2 aces, Courtney Bjorgaard 18-18 1 ace); Wolsey-Wessington (Hailey Clarke 11-11 1 ace, Leah Williams 15-17 1 ace).

Hitting: Warner 167-213 51 kills (Jennifer Aman 43-64 16 kills, Ava Nilsson 15-15 9 kills); Wolsey-Wessington (Mya Boomsma 60-62 18 kills, Williams 45-47 16 kills, Kailynn Dorris 15-18 6 kills).

Setting: Warner 45 assists (Nilsson 155-155 30 assists); Wolsey-Wessington (Macie Luce 55-55 16 assists, Clarke 48-48 9 assists).

Digs: Warner 92 (Bjorgaard 25, Kyra Marcuson 18); Wolsey-Wessington (Lainey Uttecht 35, Boomsma 25, Williams 23).

Blocks: Warner 8 assists (Nilson 2, Kami Anderson 2); Wolsey-Wessington (Dorris 7).
