Wings suffer first loss of season against national team

BLAINE, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings came up short against the National Team Development Program during the NAHL Showcase in Blaine on Friday. The national team doubled up the Wings 2-1, handing the local squad its first setback in four outings this season.

The Wings were held scoreless until final half of the third period when Owen Pitters found the back of the net on an assist from Sam Scheetz.

Aberdeen outscored the NTDP in every period and finished a 32-22 advantage in shots on goal.

Adam Dybal produced 19 saves in goal for the Wings.

Aberdeen concludes its action at the Showcase today when its takes on Fairbanks.
